The End is a Journey to New Beginnings

Knowing that our life’s demise is right around the corner is extremely frightening. It could be the conclusion of a chapter in one’s life and a journey’s end. However, it’s not every time that the final moments leave you with nothing. The end is always a journey to new beginnings, just as wearing out a pair of shoes will necessitate buying a new pair in the next few days.

And we know that all things work together for the good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28

This verse from the bible has helped me process all that happened after Hurricane Katrina. Towns, homes, and families were wiped out by the massive flooding, and there are some heartbreaking tales I’ve heard from people who’ve gone through the horrible trauma of losing everything and being abandoned. These experiences have made me realize that the Lord’s benevolence is always here for us. Whether at the end or the beginning, we’re guided by the Lord through everything we are going through.

Change is something we should not be afraid of, instead, it’s something that we should welcome. The very fact that we made it through the hurricane is a testament to God’s goodness. To embrace the end is to embrace the new beginning that the Lord has given us.

Although this can be seen as a difficult task, a beautiful rainbow always appears after the storm. Likely, your struggles, as well as mine, will be rewarded and blessed by the Lord. We just have to see the brighter side of things and know that the end is a journey to new beginnings.

When You Face Something Bigger than Yourself

To face a greater enemy is to discover what lies beyond your capabilities. As the days progress to a better tomorrow, bigger problems come into view. Now, what will you do when you face something bigger than yourself? Will you give up or push through?

Here are a few tips to remember when you feel like giving up:

Never let your emotions get the better of you. It is easy to give up when you feel like you are not fit for the challenge. But you need to remember that the opportunity would never have come your way if you weren’t deserving of it in the first place.

Always seek the Lord’s guidance in everything that you do. Big or small, God hears us. Even if we do not call out to Him, He knows our struggles. There is nothing wrong with asking for help. What more can you ask for than that of what our God can give you.

Be Thankful in all your ways. People who have given up have a typical attitude of disregarding the good things in life. As the Lord has given you another day to live and be healthy, be thankful. It is not everybody who receives this much of a blessing as you did.

God has blessed each one of us with abilities that allow us to overcome our greatest fears. When you face an obstacle bigger than yourself, His omniscience is always there to guide you through all the journeys that you are facing. It is up to you to use these blessings for the greater good of your life.

Keeping a Strong Connection to God

The Lord is near to all who call on Him. Keeping a strong connection to God is a challenge to all who practice the faith. With the world in shambles in all aspects of living, people are wandering off to dangerous places and risky behaviors. However, what does the Lord say when you hit a low point in your life?

Here are a few Bible verses that will guide you through your journey on keeping a strong Christian connection to God:

– “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and He will make straight your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)

– “Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” (John 7:38)

– “And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.” (Matthew 21:22)

– “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Deuteronomy 31:6)

– “Ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you: For every one that asks receives; and he that seeks finds; and to him that knocks it shall be opened.” (Matthew 7:7-8)

The Lord not only wants to let you know that He is always present for you, but He also shows it through all your answered prayers. In keeping a strong connection with God, despite everything that my family and I have encountered, the storm was just the peak of how my strength in faith has proved a blessing for me and my father. From randomly finding a pack of C-batteries inside the store to the kind lady who offered her phone within 30 seconds after praying for a chance to get a hold of one… These are just the little things that the Lord, our God, has made possible through our communion with Him in prayers.

Faith Over Fear: Do you have a strong Christian connection to God?

Fear drives people into a haze. From blessings to disappointments and from praise to complaints, it is through fear that we are subjects to a state of great envy and doubt. The world is incredibly chaotic now, with the pandemic on the loose. Millions of people are dying, and billions are at a loss. With calamities ravaging our lands, knowing calm requires a good sense of wisdom and strong faith in God.

As Joshua, the son of Nun, said to the Israelites whom God promised their land, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9). Through everything the Israelites have encountered, it is easy for evil to try and take the people of God away from Him. Therefore, facing a great enemy always requires courage, strength, and confidence. Still, if that enemy is that of the devil, infecting a whole city or the whole world, it is through our faith that we conquer everything.

In great bewilderment, the Israelites, amidst all the trials they’ve faced, were given the land that the Lord has promised unto them. Likewise, when we keep our spiritual connection strong, we are rewarded with the blessings the Lord had promised to us as children of God. The peace and spiritual security we find in our relationship with God helps us develop an even stronger connection with Him in our faith. Similarly, calamities such as hurricanes and pandemics have done a great deal of damage to humanity. This peril has forced some to leave their homes, and others have resorted to risky activities. But we should be assured that our prayers are still being heard by God, whenever we call out to Him. The Lord will always have His ways of answering our prayers. It is not a matter of hope but that of our faith in Him that He may come and save us from the things that trouble us in our daily lives.
